Organic Community Garden

2016 marks the 5th year of the Joliet Park District's Community Garden Program!

Roughly 200 plots are ready for gardening of the nearly 9 acres (or approximately 900 plots) available. 3 headed spigots line the perimeter of the garden for water use.

Garden plots are available to both Joliet Residents as well as surrounding community members. Plots are available in two sizes: 10’ x 10’ or 10’ x 20’ and are $25 per plot for residents ($37.50 for non-residents) and $50 per plot for residents ($75 for non-residents), respectively. Gardeners may purchase multiple plots with no limit. Gardening season runs from April through October.

How to Sign Up

Please note that Garden Plots are not available for online registration.

Register in person at the Presence Inwood Athletic Club Front Desk, 3000 W. Jefferson Street in Joliet.

Current Resident Discout Card holders may purchase a plot by downloading, filling out and mailing a copy of the online Garden Application to: Joliet Park District, Attn: Kristen Bernier, 3000 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, IL 60435.

Gardening is an enjoyable and rewarding activity for both individuals and families. The benefits and satisfaction received from participating in a community garden come not only in the harvesting of food for the table, but also in developing new friendships with people who have a common interest.
